Gitts Attention is an informal decorative dahlia that opens 4–6" blooms in white. Creamy white petals with fimbriated tips give each bloom an airy, layered presence that photographs clean and cuts beautifully. Nick Gitts bred it on the West Coast and introduced it in 2000, and it has stayed on show benches and in bridal bouquets ever since. It was bred in United States by Nicholas Gitts in 2000.

Growing Gitts Attention

Stake your plants early before the blooms develop weight, since top-heavy white heads collect water and pull weak supports sideways in summer rain. Pinch once after the fourth set of true leaves to encourage side branches and a fuller habit. Cut stems in the early morning when buds are just starting to unfurl, and keep them in clean water to hold bloom quality.

Spacing
Space roughly 2–3 ft apart
Staking
Stake early — stems carry heavy blooms and lean in wind
