Camano Roo was bred in United States by Dick & Susan Ambrose (Camano Dahlias) in 2007. Camano Roo opens into flat-faced blooms the color of deep salmon, with petals that hold their hue from first flush through fall. Dick and Susan Ambrose introduced it in 2007 as part of their long-running Camano Island series, and flower farmers reach for it when they need a reliable mid-season pink that photographs well and keeps giving. Camano Roo is a formal decorative dahlia that opens 4–6" blooms in pink.

Growing Camano Roo

Pinch the main shoot once four pairs of leaves are up to push side branches and increase your stem count. Plant in full sun with well-draining soil and space tubers at least eighteen inches apart so air can move through the canopy. Water deeply twice a week once growth is established, and switch to a low-nitrogen bloom formula when buds appear. Cut stems in the early morning when blooms have just opened fully.
