Franz Kafka

The variety florists reach for when they need lavender and cannot settle.

🌸

Once Franz Kafka opens, it does not quit. From midsummer through first frost, those tight globe flowers keep coming in waves of rosy lilac, filling vases and borders alike without ever needing a break. Growers who want a reliable, high-volume producer with undeniable presence reach for this one first, season after season.

How to Grow It

Plant your tubers in full sun in well-drained, fertile soil after all frost risk has passed. Pinch the central shoot above the third set of leaves to encourage bushier growth and more stems. Water consistently and feed with a low-nitrogen fertilizer once buds appear. In colder climates, lift and store your tubers before the ground freezes and replant the following spring.
