Place one stem in a vase and the warmth travels across the room. Bred in England in 1984 by Pi Ensum, Hamari Gold layers deep golden yellow with amber and honey tones that deepen toward the center. It holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit and wins on the show table as reliably as it turns heads in the garden. Grown by exhibitors who know the difference between a good dahlia and a great one.

How to Grow It
Plant in full sun in rich, well-drained soil and stake early, as your plant will get tall and the blooms are worth protecting. Pinch the main shoot when growth reaches a few sets of leaves to encourage branching and multiply your stem count. Disbud side buds around the terminal bloom if you are growing for exhibition. Water consistently and feed every two weeks with a low-nitrogen fertilizer once buds appear. Lift and store your tubers before the first hard frost.
