Robann Regal earns its name with round lavender-purple flowers glowing against long, dark stems. Hybridized by Robert and Anna Moynahan and introduced in 1997, this productive cultivar pumps out armloads of cool-toned rosy-lavender blooms from midsummer through frost. Petals deepen toward the center for a jewel-tone focal point that pairs cleanly with whites, soft pinks, and chartreuse foliage. It was bred in United States by Robert and Anna Moynahan in 1997.

Growing Robann Regal

Plant tubers eye-up after soil warms and the last frost has passed. Stake early because mature plants reach chest height and flop once blooms load the stems. Pinch the central shoot above the third leaf pair to push side branching and boost cutting yields. Water deeply once or twice a week rather than shallow daily sprinkles, and feed with a balanced fertilizer that shifts lower-nitrogen as buds form. Watch for powdery mildew late in the season and thin inner foliage to improve airflow.
