The cushion of tufted florets at the heart is what makes this variety read so distinctly in a mixed bouquet, quiet but impossible to overlook. Alpen Pearl is an anemone dahlia that opens 4–6" blooms in lavender.

Growing Alpen Pearl

Plant in full sun and pinch once your young plant has several sets of leaves to encourage side branching. Stake early so the stems stay upright as blooms open. Cut when the center cushion has fully expanded but the outer rays are still firm. Deadhead regularly to keep new buds coming through late summer.
