Big Guy Slice is a 2010 United States introduction. Big Guy Slice opens in a steady, clear yellow that reads as cheerful rather than bright. Each petal tip is split and lightly serrated, giving every bloom a feathered edge and plenty of visual texture. It also holds its form on the show bench.

Growing Big Guy Slice

Pinch above the fourth leaf pair early in the season to encourage branching and a higher stem count. Stake at planting time since tall growth makes the plants susceptible to wind lean. Feed with a low-nitrogen fertilizer once buds appear to keep flower production going. Cut blooms when the outer petals are fully open and the center is just beginning to expand for the longest hold after harvest.

Spacing: Space roughly 2–3 ft apart
Staking: Stake early — stems carry heavy blooms and lean in wind
