Black Narcissus
The darkest flower in the room belongs in your garden.
Imagine the richest, most shadowy corner of a midsummer garden. That is where Black Narcissus commands attention. Tightly quilled petals in near-black maroon with a flush of rose at the center create a flower that looks unlike anything else on the stem. For the grower who wants something the neighbors will stop and ask about.

How to Grow It
Start your tubers after your last frost date and give them a spot in full sun with good drainage. Pinch your plant early to encourage branching and more stems. Feed with a low-nitrogen, high-potassium fertilizer once buds form. Lift and store your tubers before hard frost each year. They are worth saving.
