Growing Downham Royal

Pinch the central growing tip early in the season to promote side shoots and maximize flower count. Stake plants at planting time before stems fill in. Water deeply and consistently at the base, letting the soil surface dry slightly between sessions. Feed with a low-nitrogen fertilizer once buds begin to form, and cut stems regularly to keep production going strong through autumn.
