Growing Embrace

Plant tubers in full sun once soil has warmed, spacing generously to allow good air circulation. Stake at planting time to avoid root disturbance later. Pinch out the central shoot when plants reach a hand-span tall to promote branching and more blooms. Disbud side buds around the terminal bloom for show-quality flowers. Water deeply but infrequently, and feed with a low-nitrogen fertilizer once buds set. Lift and store tubers after the first frost.
