Kenora Frills opens in rich, saturated dark pink with each petal tipped in fine fringe that catches light and gives the flower a feathery, layered look. Bred by Gordon Leroux in Kenora, Ontario in 1996, it is one of the enduring Kenora-series classics that brought fringed petal form to North American gardens. Compact enough to grow without staking, it produces freely branching stems through summer into fall. It was bred in Canada by Gordon Leroux in 1996.

Growing Kenora Frills
Pinch at four to five leaf pairs to encourage branching and maximize stem count. You can expect plants to stay in the three-to-four-foot range, so staking is optional but helpful in exposed spots. Water consistently at the base, and feed every two to three weeks with a low-nitrogen fertilizer once buds form. Cut blooms in early morning when petals are still cool, and deadhead regularly to keep new buds coming through frost.
- Spacing
- Space roughly 2–3 ft apart
- Staking
- Stake early — stems carry heavy blooms and lean in wind
