White Alva's is a 1979 United Kingdom introduction. White petals open clean as fresh linen, with a soft ivory warmth deep at the center. Bred in Britain in the late seventies, it earned the RHS Award of Garden Merit and still anchors wedding buckets and late-summer borders decades later. It also holds its form on the show bench.

Growing White Alva's

Stake early and stake strong, because these heads get heavy once they start opening. Pinch the center shoot when you have three or four leaf pairs to coax side branches and more cutting stems. Disbud to a single crown bud per stem if you want the full showpiece blooms this one is known for. Feed generously through summer and watch for earwigs, who love to hide between the tight white petals.

Spacing
Space roughly 2–3 ft apart
Staking
