Wyn's New Pastel is an informal decorative dahlia that opens 8–10" blooms in pink. Pastel peach, butter yellow, and blush pink swirl across every bloom, no two petals alike. The color shifts through the season, cooler in spring, warmer by late summer, so a row of the same variety reads like a curated palette. It was bred in United States by Walt and Cory Wynne in 2001.

Growing Wyn's New Pastel

You will want to stake these early, because they run tall and the heavy heads will tip without support. Pinch when the main stem reaches your knee to push out more branches. Cut deep and often once the first blooms open, and you will be rewarded with long, straight stems all season. Watch for color drift in very hot weather, the pastels shift yellower.
