Semi-Cactus · 8–10"OrangeWalt and Cory Wynne (2008)United States
Dinner-plate heads glow peach at the center and deepen into bronze orange at the petal tips, so one stem reads like a sunset trapped in petals. The color shifts week to week, cooler and more yellow in early fall, warmer and redder as nights drop, which is the Wynne family signature. Exhibitors and farm-stand growers keep coming back for the same reason, it photographs like nothing else in the patch. It was bred in United States by Walt and Cory Wynne in 2008.

Growing Wyn's Sensation
You will want to stake and cage this one from the day you plant it, because the stalks run tall and the heavy heads snap in a wind. Pinch the main shoot once it clears your knee to force side branches and more cutting stems. Disbud to the terminal if you want show-size blooms, leave the side buds on for cut-flower volume. Feed steadily through summer and cut deep to keep pushing new growth.
- Spacing
- Space about 3 ft apart
- Staking
- Stake early — stems carry heavy blooms and lean in wind
