American Sun is a formal decorative dahlia that opens 4–6" blooms in yellow.

Growing American Sun

Plant tubers in full sun after soil warms, spacing them generously apart. Stake at planting before growth hides the crown, as stems can reach considerable height by peak season. Pinch after the fourth set of true leaves to multiply branching and bloom count. Cut flowers in the cool of early morning when heads are three-quarters open, and condition in cool water for several hours before arranging.
