Camano Pet is a stellar dahlia that opens 4–5" blooms in yellow. Butter yellow petals warm to soft peach at the tips, giving each bloom a hand-painted look. Dick Ambrose introduced it in 1997, and it still turns up on the exhibition benches that matter. It was bred in United States by Dick & Susan Ambrose in 1997.

Growing Camano Pet

Stake these plants early because they can reach tall and the stems get heavy once loaded with blooms. Pinch the tips when young to push more branching and longer side stems. Disbud the lateral buds if you are chasing show-quality centers. Keep the soil evenly moist through the heat so the buttery color stays crisp.

Spacing: Space about 3 ft apart
Staking: Stake early — stems carry heavy blooms and lean in wind
