Creme de Cassis is a waterlily dahlia that opens 4–6" blooms in purple. Named for the French blackcurrant liqueur, this Dutch introduction earns its name. Pale lavender-pink on top, deep wine-red underneath, with a near-black heart that deepens as the bloom opens. It was bred in Netherlands by Geerlings Dahlia in 2015.

Growing Creme de Cassis

You can pinch early for more stems and expect steady production from midsummer through frost. Staking is optional for shorter plantings but helps keep heavy blooms upright in windy sites.
