Growing Creve Coeur

Stake plants at planting and add ties as they grow, since height regularly reaches five feet. Pinch above the third leaf set early in the season to encourage branching and more blooms per plant. Feed with a low-nitrogen fertilizer once buds form and water deeply but infrequently. Watch for powdery mildew in humid weather and give each plant plenty of room for air to move through.

Spacing
Space about 3 ft apart
Staking
Stake early — stems carry heavy blooms and lean in wind
