Karma Lagoon is a formal decorative dahlia that opens 4–5.6" blooms in purple. Karma Lagoon opens in a shifting blend of magenta and blue-violet that catches light differently at every angle, giving arrangements an almost iridescent quality. Bred in the Netherlands for commercial cut-flower production, it pairs professional-grade performance with a saturated, unusual color that stands apart from ordinary purple dahlias. It was bred in Netherlands by P. Verwer in 1998.

Growing Karma Lagoon

Plant tubers in full sun once soil has warmed, giving each plant generous spacing so air moves freely between stems. Pinch the central shoot at four to five leaf nodes early in the season to encourage multiple lateral branches and a higher bloom count. Stake plants as they grow to keep the long stems upright in summer storms. Cut stems in the cool of the morning for the best post-harvest performance, and remove spent flowers regularly to keep new buds coming until frost.
