Tempest is a formal decorative dahlia that opens 4–5" blooms in pink. Coral and raspberry warm up the bed at dusk, with a faint lavender haze on the petal edges that keeps the color from ever reading one-note. Petals sunbleach as they age, so the bloom you cut on Monday reads lighter by Friday while new stems keep pumping out behind it. It was bred in United States by Swan Island Dahlias in 1997.
