Grower Profile
Difficulty
Ideal for
Growing Clearview Sundance
Stake early and deep because the five-foot plants carry heavy dinner-plate heads that will tilt in the first windy afternoon. Pinch at four sets of leaves to push strong laterals, then disbud hard so every stem delivers one show-quality bloom instead of a cluster. Watch for stem borers on the tall canes in mid-season and feed low-nitrogen once buds set so the yellow stays clear and saturated. Cut blooms only after they open fully, since the narrow revolute petals will not continue unfurling in water.
- Spacing
- Space about 3 ft apart
- Staking
- Stake early — stems carry heavy blooms and lean in wind
