Evening Lady
The red dahlia serious exhibitors build their season around.
One stem stops a room. Evening Lady produces deeply saturated ruby red blooms on dark contrasting stems that hold their form under pressure. Exhibition growers have been winning with it since 1991, and market farmers keep it in rotation for the stems that always sell first.

How to Grow It
Plant in full sun with good air circulation for best performance. Evening Lady is a tall grower, so stake early and firmly to support its vigorous stems. Pinch the central shoot above the third set of leaves to encourage branching and more blooms. Disbud for show-quality flowers, or let it run for generous cut flower production. Regular deadheading extends the flush through late season.
