A single stem lands on the table and the whole room shifts toward it. Petals curl into perfect spheres, cycling through salmon, peach, and warm yellow from the outer edge to the heart, a gradient that reads different in morning light than afternoon. Bred by Jozef Weyts of Belgium, it carries the productivity and stem strength his series is known for. Farmers market growers report it sells out before anything else in the bucket.

How to Grow It
Plant your tuber after the last frost threat has passed and the soil has warmed. Pinch the central growing tip once your plant has reached several sets of leaves to encourage side branching and multiply your stem count through the season. Jowey Paula is a tall grower, so stake early before the plant needs it rather than after. It blooms freely from midsummer through the first hard frost. Disbud side shoots on each stem if you want the largest possible spheres. Lift and store tubers before the ground freezes.
