How to Grow It

Pinch your plant early to encourage branching and a fuller, more productive plant. Keep your plant consistently watered, especially during heat waves, as irregular moisture can cause bud drop. Stake your plant at planting time before stems get heavy. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to keep your plant focused on new flower production. After the first frost blackens the foliage, cut back the stems and dig your tubers carefully, allowing them to cure before storing them in a cool, dry, frost-free location over winter.
