One petal tilts crimson, the next fades to cream, and the third splits the two down the middle, so no two flowers ever match. It was bred in Netherlands by Bal in 2001.

Stake early, because tall stems carry heavy heads that flop in wind. Pinch out the center shoot once side branches start to form, which pushes energy into more bloom-bearing stems. Expect every flower to look different, and resist the urge to rogue out odd ones, since the color shifting is the whole point. Keep feeding steady through summer to hold the variegation crisp into fall.
